The project gave the Hui Oi Chow (HOC) Building a new facelift and provided upgraded teaching laboratories and studios for the Faculty of Engineering. The works involved the construction of a new external glass canopy and changing the external façade from conventional brick walls with a wall tile finish to new glazing panels and cladding. To improve circulation and aesthetic image, the existing concrete staircase was demolished and a new and modern designed steel staircase was constructed.
The reorganisation of space and renovation works on LG/F and G/F consisted of providing a wide range of teaching facilities and laboratories for Engineering students.
The building services works involved the removal and replacement of the existing services on LG/F and G/F so that the new services suit the internal space and altered layout without affecting the regular operations of the floors above.
This project was completed in Q3 2020.
